I finally got approved to work at the VA (veteran affairs) medical center (where my lab is physically located). It's a government workplace so every has to be checked ten times. Fingerprinting and background checks from “agents” are big parts of it. However, I was close to making it an official record by getting my affiliation approved in just over a month, which apparently is very fast. Now I just need my physical badge so I can access the lab. I wonder how and when I get that...
